Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does OEMA support Oklahoma emergency managers year-round?

OEMA connects State, County, Municipal, and Tribal emergency managers through standards, board governance, and peer networks so teams stay aligned on readiness across storms, wildfires, and public safety events.

Beyond conferences, we publish agendas, minutes, and proposed by-law changes so members understand how decisions are made and can provide feedback before policies are finalized.

We also maintain regional collaborations that mirror the archived site structure (Northwest, Northeast, Central, Southeast, Southwest) to keep training localized while sharing statewide best practices.

What is the current focus of the 2023 OEMA Conference?

The 2023 conference centers on training blocks, networking, and exhibitor engagement at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant with pre-conference training on February 26-27 and main sessions February 28-March 2.

Attendee and exhibitor registration is hosted through CVENT, matching the archive links so historical references remain valid for documentation and purchasing workflows.

Vendors and sponsors are encouraged to plan door prizes and on-site engagement to align with the archived expectations around exhibitor hours and attendee traffic.

How do memberships and governance materials help new members?

Membership applications and governance documents provide a fast on-ramp to understand expectations, voting timelines, and how OEMA funds are used to improve training and standards.

Agendas and minutes restored from the archive give continuity, showing how the board addressed past severe weather responses, exercises, and interagency coordination.

This transparency reduces onboarding friction for new emergency managers and supports compliance with state-level reporting on preparedness initiatives.

Where can I find exhibitor and sponsor details from the archive?

The Exhibitor Booth page retains archived pricing, inclusions (10x10 space, power, pipe and drape, Wi-Fi, table, chairs), and asset submission instructions so procurement teams have a reliable reference.

Conference setup and teardown windows are preserved to help vendors plan logistics and staffing without re-negotiating expectations.

Door prize guidance and no-show policies remain visible to keep commitments clear and avoid billing surprises for sponsors.

How are regional OEM pages used on the new site?

Regional pages like Southeast OEM remain single-column and mobile-first while retaining meeting notes, workshop updates, and board contact points from the archive.

These sections help counties coordinate EM Day activities, virtual workshops, and mutual aid conversations specific to local hazards.

By keeping canonical URLs intact, search and bookmarks continue to resolve to the same regional resources even after the static rebuild.
